Trail around Knarrbysjön
Edsleskog/Fengersfors

Leisure biking 26,5 km

The trail starts in Edsleskog and goes through Fengersfors around the lake Knarrbysjön with a short detour through Fröskog. Along the trail there are quite a few beautiful and interesting places where you can take a break. In Fengersfors you will find the very popular cultural centre Not Quite. While biking along the trail you will also pass by three nature reserves. The famous wooden church in Fröskog is worth a visit as well.

The trail starts off from Edsleskog and the charming guesthouse Edsleskogs Wärdshus at a hilly gravel road towards Linheden and continues after about 5 km into a smaller asphalt road that crosses the gravel road. When continuing the asphalt road towards Fengersfors you will enter the nature reserve of Grimsheden about 1 km before arriving in Fengersfors.

Not Quite

In Fengersfors you pass by one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region – Not Quite. This is an old paper mill which has been transformed into a vibrant cultural centre, where artists, designers and craftsmen of various kinds have their studios and workshops. Here you find exhibitions, an arts and craft boutique, a bakery and a café where they also serve lunch. In Fengersfors you will also find Knarrbysjöbadet by lake Knarrbysjön – a family beach.

Fröskog Church

When leaving Fengersfors the trail continues through Fröskog where you find the old wooden church built in 1730. This church is known to be one of the most beautiful churches in Dalsland. In the church it is possible to go on a guided tour using an audio guide. After the visit in Fröskog you bike 2 km along road 2236 and then the trail turns back towards Edsleskog. Along the way towards Edsleskog you pass by the nature reserves of Hafsåsen and Bräcke ängar – both of them well worth a visit.
