77 hours with the family

Day 1: Miniatures, play, and trolls

Start your adventure with a stop at Timmele Miniby, where historical settings in miniature invite you to a calm and curious start. There is something special about wandering among the tiny houses and imagining what life was like in the past. Not far from there lies Basta Kvarncafé, where you can enjoy a quintessential Swedish 'fika' (coffee and cake) on the small green islands along the waters of the River Ätran.

The next stop is an incredible playground, The glass park in Limmared, where children can marvel and explore freely. This creative space captures the soul of the town and provides the perfect outlet for burning off some energy. Right next to the park is Glasets Hus, a perfect spot for a well-deserved lunch break in their restaurant.

Next, we recommend a memorable activity: trolley cycling (cycling on old railway tracks). Rolling silently through the landscape on the old railway is an exciting experience for the whole family.

A small detour well worth the stop is Gräne Gruva – an old feldspar mine with steep walls and lush surroundings. The entire mine area is also inhabited by 'trolls', creating a play area focused on movement and discovery.

For your first night, you choose the setting. Hanatorps Camping offers proximity to the calm of the lake, while Kinna Bed & Breakfast provides a personal and warm home-away-from-home feeling in the heart of the historic textile district.

Day 2: Adventures in valleys and treetops

After a good breakfast, nature’s own architecture awaits at the Assberg ravines. A short hiking trail takes you through a dramatic yet accessible landscape. Walking here feels like stepping into another world—lush, green, and secretive.

When you need to refuel, a visit to Blommigt & Prickigt is highly recommended. Here, you are met with genuine hospitality in a setting that feels both rural and welcoming. Rested and recharged, continue towards Buaskogen, where a real adventure among the treetops awaits those who dare.

The day rounds off in Borås. Let the children play in the leafy Stadsparken as evening sets in. Borås offers plenty of restaurants to suit both big and small taste buds—perfect for a family dinner before checking in for the night.

Rest up at the family-friendly Borås Camping, or choose a comfortable family room at Quality Hotel Grand for a good night's sleep in the heart of the city.

Day 3: Animals and science

The final day of the trip is dedicated to two of Sjuhärad’s most popular attractions. We begin at Borås Zoo. Home to animals from all over the world, the park is famous for its large natural enclosures. There is also plenty of room for play in 'Simbaland' or the chance to discover dinosaurs in the 'Dinopark'. Time flies when observing the wild animals, and we recommend lunch in one of the park’s own restaurants.

To perfectly round off your stay, visit Navet Science Centre. This is a place where curiosity takes centre stage and science becomes understandable and fun for all ages. Together, you can experiment and discover, providing a wonderful shared conclusion to your 77 hours in Sjuhärad.
