Gässläsä outdoor area
Borås
In the heart of Gässlösa, south of Borås, this outdoor and recreation area stretches between Kristineberg, Svedje and Gässlösa.
Take on an adventure along the green-white trail, the Gässlösaleden, about 6.7 kilometers from the Gässlösa sports ground at Kristineberg. The trail takes you through a delightful variety of dirt roads and enchanting forest paths. Stop at places like Stora Transåssjön and the small Stjärnsjön, remnants of a formerly larger lake, now home to Gässlösa's landfill site.
Discover barbecue areas and rest areas along the route. A barbecue area along the electric light trail provides a panoramic view of the city of Borås. There are several benches and picnic tables along the route with more planned along the hiking trail. There are barbecue facilities at the fishing piers at Lake Transås and picnic tables at Transås bathing area.
Explore Gässlösa's landfill and enjoy the breathtaking view from the old dump, a destination loved not only by bird watchers. The Stjärn Lakes, small surviving fragments from another time, offer their enchanting scenes in the middle of the area that was once the home of another lake.
Look out over the centre of Borås from the illuminated track and let the unique view add to the experience. The frisbee golf course between Gässlösa sports ground and Svedjeskolan, proudly arranged by IFK Borås with its 18 holes, is waiting to challenge you to a fun game.
