Biergarten Hjo is located in the heart of Hjo Town Park, surrounded by leafy trees, offering a Bavarian-inspired menu with dishes such as schnitzel, German sausages from Lilla Spännefalla in Tibro, and the tapas-style “Plattan.” Carefully selected local ingredients are always in focus, and you can even buy sausages or cuts of meat to take home.

Beer, outdoor seating, and dog-friendly

The specialty is draft beer, with a focus on German varieties. In summer, the outdoor seating area opens with long tables that invite new connections, and dogs are welcome – with their own dog beer on the menu.

Community and events

Biergarten strives to be a place for memorable moments, offering activities such as boules and the classic nail-in-the-stump game. All year round, they host music and troubadour evenings, the autumn Oktoberfest “PARKFESTEN,” and a Christmas market in December.

Hjo Town Park and the Eira Pavilion
Hjo Town Park was established in the 1870s as a spa park along Lake Vättern, lined with beautiful wooden villas from the era. In the middle of the park stands Biergarten’s home – the historic Eira Pavilion from 1907, designed by Lars Kellman as the last building constructed specifically for the spa’s guests.

Built for recreation and social life, it features an open veranda with an octagonal platform and an Art Nouveau-inspired onion-shaped dome – an architectural gem that still invites visitors to gather and relax.
