Inforest Tiny Houses
Hjo

Stay overnight in the middle of the forest in a modern house on wheels

Just outside Hjo you will find a different sort of accommodation in the forest: three "tiny Houses", located in a calm setting, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Book a natural experience and a completely self-sufficient house, where everything is built with sustainable materials. Welcome!

In the middle of the forest but still very close

The founders of Inforest, Jesper and Petra, believe in sustainable nature tourism with the philosophy that "the forest helps people to relax, to calm down and to find peace". The result was their tiny houses: self-sufficient mini-houses called Ebbe, Vilgot and Esther, in the middle of the forest.

A step away from everyday stress

The tiny houses are off-grid in the middle of the forest outside the picturesque town of Hjo. There is no WiFi here and mobile coverage in the area is blissfully limited. This is a deliberate choice, of course, because an off-grid stay is about leaving behind social media and everyday stress. To reap the benefits of Inforest's concept you will probably need at least two nights, but more likely four to seven nights, to really get away from things. Book directly on the Inforest website.

Scenic accommodation for couples and families

The tiny houses Vilgot and Ebbe each have a cozy sleeping loft with a double bed and a sofa bed which can sleep two people comfortably. The kitchens are specially built and fully equipped with a gas stove, gas oven, refrigerator with a freezer compartment, utensils, crockery and cutlery. The bathrooms have towels and toilet paper; shampoo and conditioner are also available.
Esther is the largest house, just over 10 metres long, and has its own bedroom, a large living room and kitchen and a sleeping loft: perfect for a family or for those who want a little more space.

Off-grid with minimal climate footprint

The interior of the tiny houses is very high quality, mostly in natural materials such as birch plywood, oak floors and solid wood worktops. The interior is minimalist and in harmony with the surrounding forest, and the boundary between outside and inside is softened by the large windows.

The houses are all equipped with solar panels and the energy is stored in batteries. A built-in water tank and compost-separating toilet make the houses completely off-grid. Quite simply, sustainable nature tourism with a minimal climate footprint, allowing the houses to be located virtually anywhere. Read more about off-grid HERE!

Nearby activities

In the forests surrounding the tiny houses there are some small forest roads and two beautiful footpaths nearby; Pilgrim Paths Hjo-Kungslena and Västra Vätterleden: More about the Pilgrim Paths HERE! The Högaliden Recreation Area is not far away and has gravel roads and paths for mountain bikes. The nearest place for swimming and fishing is lake Mullsjön, which is shallow and has perch and pike, among other fish. It is possible to rent a rowing boat there.

The town of Hjo offers mini golf and adventure golf, a swimming pool, a floating sauna on Lake Vänern and in the warm summer days you can rent SUPs and kayaks in Hjo harbour. Bicycles can also be rented at Whatsup Rental. There are several restaurants in Hjo well worth the visit.
