Mini Farm Shop, Self-Picking, and Swedish Fika

Kaggestorp Farm is located in Fröjered, approximately five kilometres outside Hjo, and is run by Marcus and Judit. The farm features a large blueberry plantation, a raspberry field, a smaller farm shop, a campervan stop, and a cabin. Kaggestorp Farm has been owned and operated by the same family for over 100 years. Two decades ago, 4,500 blueberry bushes were planted for self-picking, making it the first farm in Sweden to do so for commercial purposes. In 2022, Marcus and Judit took over Kaggestorp Farm and have been running exciting new projects.

Blueberries

Kaggestorp is well-known as Kaggestorp Blueberry Farm, having been so for over 25 years. Here, there are more than 4,500 bushes and a total of 6 different varieties of American giant blueberries, both sour and sweet. You can taste your way through the varieties and be guided around the garden to discover each variety: Reka, Patriot, Bluetta, Spartan, Puru, and Hardy Blue. During the summer, Kaggestorp offers self-picking.

Raspberries

In early November 2023, 4,000 raspberry plants were planted, half of them being the summer variety Glen Ample, and the other half the autumn variety Polka. Raspberries are also available for self-picking during the summer and autumn.

Farm Shop

Kaggestorp Farm has a smaller vegetable garden, and any surplus produce is sold in the farm shop. These are so fresh they are picked on the same morning. In the farm shop, you can also buy eggs from the farm’s chickens and honey from hives located on the farm. Coffee, cake, and ice cream are also sold here.

Coffee by the Pond

At the beautiful pond at Kaggestorp Farm, you can sit down for a coffee. You can bring your own or purchase from the farm shop. There are wooden tables, benches, and blankets available. If you'd like to grill, there are also barbecue tables available.

Cabin and Campervan Stop

At Kaggestorp Farm, there is both a cabin and a campervan stop. The cabin is available from May to September. This one-room cabin features a wood-burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, a newly renovated toilet with a shower, and a terrace overlooking the land and forest. The campervan stop is located right by the pond and blueberry fields. You can park your caravan, motorhome, or pitch a tent here. There is a toilet available, and you can also refill your water tank.
