In Broddetorp, not far from the shores of Lake Hornborgasjön, is Löfwings Ateljé & Krog. A visit here provides stimulation for the senses. You can experience nature-inspired art by Göran Löfwing and also view works in progress. At Löfwings you can also enjoy good food in their restaurant and the delicious range in the art café. Amidst the beautiful Valle district you will find Atelier Murat. Here you can experience the work of artist Mercedes Murat – shimmering glass paintings and unique items of furniture. All amongst a delightful mix of brushes, turpentine and ongoing creations on the easel. In addition, you will find gorgeous furnishing fabrics, interior design items from all corners of the world and a haute couture Swarovski collection from 1940s Bohemia to discover in the studio.
The Sandströms are a couple working with mixed media and sculpture/raku. The gallery displays their own work, hosts exhibitions and houses a showroom with pieces by hand-picked artists. Their art is represented at art galleries throughout Sweden, Europe and the USA.
At Jula art gallery you can wander around and view a beautiful and unique collection of artworks. It includes national icons such as Anders Zorn, Carl Larsson and Bruno Liljefors. Their collection of Anders Zorn paintings is probably the largest in Sweden. The Jula art gallery is easily accessible, alongside the E20 and adjacent to the hotel of the same name. In addition to the hotel, there is also a restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious meal after visiting the art gallery.
Galleri Odenslunda is located in Tidan, just north of Skövde. This international artists’ centre has views of nearby Östen bird lake. Here you will find a unique sculpture park created by 12 artists. It is home to 60 creations of differing sizes – everything from miniature masterpieces to monuments up to 8 metres in height.
