How to catch a wolf

Pits have been used to trap animals from pre-historic times until the 19th century. This pit is unique of its kind and one of the best preserved in the country.

The pit

The pit is 5 metres in diameter and 3.5 metres deep with dry-stone walls and bottom. A barrow and a stone circle can be found not far from the pit.

 How to find it 

Directions: Road 157 from Ulricehamn towards Tranemo. After Gällstad follow sign to the right for ‘Fångstgrop’.
