Nature Reserve Furusjön
Dals-Ed

A botanical and cultural history valuable farm.

Furustad is well suited for a day on the beach combined with a forest walk. It is easily reached by the water, but also via a road through the forest from Valsebo. Drive north from Ed along the east side of Stora Le.

Valuable cultivation fields

The Furustad Nature Reserve on the East Side of Lake Stora Le houses botanically valuable cultivation fields. The farm Furustad is a botanical and cultural heritage close to the water.

Furustad

Furustad has previously been a farm of the village Valsebo. It has been used for a long time. In the early 1700s the cultivation was concentrated on the lower parts of the valley. The cultivation ceased in the 1960s, and the area's fields and meadows are now in a phase of growth. Some parts are to be maintained to preserve the botanically valuable meadows. The area is part of the EU's ecological network of protected areas, Natura 2000.

A shelter with fireplace, wood storage, TC and garbage can be found at the lake.
