Playgrounds in Hjo
Looking for the perfect playground for your family? There are no fewer than 26 playgrounds across Hjo – and you’ll find them all marked on our map. Have fun – and don’t forget to play a little for us too!
The different colours on the map show when the playground is open and who is responsible for its maintenance:
🔴 RED
Maintained by Hjo Municipality and open 24/7.
🟡 YELLOW
Located at a school or preschool – play is only permitted during evenings and weekends when no school activities are taking place. Maintained by Hjo Municipality.
🟠 ORANGE
Privately maintained playground – not managed by Hjo Municipality.
CENTRAL HJO’S MOST POPULAR PLAYGROUNDS
The two most visited playgrounds are the pirate ship by the harbour and the large playground in Hjo City Park.
Hjo City Park
Brand new as of 2024! Here you’ll find climbing frames at various heights, a slide, swings, and a sand play area – everything you need for a fun time. The surface is a mix of sand and rubber matting. There’s also a barbecue area right next to it, perfect for those wanting to spend the whole day. The playground is also next to an outdoor gym.
Hjo Harbour – Strömparterren
In the harbour, between the large car park and Nya Hamnkrogen restaurant, you’ll find a fun pirate ship playground (you can see it in the photo above). Climb up to the lookout tower, hide in the stern, or why not build a sandcastle?
