Swimming for dogs

At several locations in Hjo, it's permitted for your four-legged friend to take a refreshing swim as well. Here, we provide tips about these places. For more information, please contact the touristinformation.

 

 

Places dogs are allowed to swim:

Beach promenade in the south
School pier (end of Sjögatan)
Southern pier in Hjo harbor
Stämmorna in Mullsjön, northern side of the lake
During the winter half of the year, dogs are allowed to swim at municipal public bathing areas.

Swimming with a dog - things to consider:


During the period from April 30th to September 1st, it's generally not permitted to swim with dogs at Hjo's public municipal bathing areas (exceptions exist - see specifics for each location below).


During the winter half of the year, dogs can swim at public municipal bathing areas.
Dogs are allowed to swim at bathing places that are not public bathing areas.
Please remember that dogs should be kept on a leash, and it's important to clean up after your dog.
