From former industrial society to attractive tourist region
Bengtsfors municipality consists of six small village districts: Bäckefors, Dals Långed, Bengtsfors, Billingsfors, Skåpafors and Gustavsfors. Four of them are situated directly at the Dalslands canal (Swedish link), a system of lakes, bound to each other by locks. In all Bengtsfors counts to 399 lakes, therefore a paradise for water activities, canoeing above all.
We arrange a canoe marathon every year, a tough challenge for the elite as well as amateurs to paddle 55 km. The start usually takes place at Baldersnäs manors and the finsh in the centre of Bengtsfors, with a huge craw fish party in the evening as the final arrangement.
