About the project
There is a growing interest of retro and antique! It is just right to think in terms of substainable and reuseable. In Dalsland, Munkedal and Årjäng there are many great second hands and many of high quality. But there was no overall documentation of the supply. This we wanted to change through the Antiksafari Dalsland project.
Dalslands Turist AB (DTAB) saw the potencial of this sector being a reason for travel and wanted to tie this with together with other things like dining, tourist attractions and accomodation. DTAB’s application of support from Local led Development (Leader)/Framtidsbygder and EU’s farmfond for support for countryside development. Eva Erlandsson was employed as project manager, part time during the period of Nov 2017 - July 2019.
Antiksafari Dalsland includes the communities in Dalsland (Färgelanda, Bengtsfors, Dals-Ed, Mellerud, Åmål) and Vänersborg (the Dalsland part) and also Munkedal & Årjäng, which means the whole Leader area.
In the beginning of 2018 the documentation started and three infomation meetings were held, in Högsäter, Mellerud and Bengtsfors - these meetings were well covered by media and this created even more new contacts. A Facebook group was created as an information canal. Here the second hand places could inform about opening hours and other things of interest for the visitor - all in one place.
During the project a list of all the second hand and antique places were gathered on to a list including approximate opening hours, address and contact info - sorted under each community. You will find this info on Antiksafari Dalslands website www.antiksafari.com
This list is very changable and it has been a challange to keep it updated as much happens on the field as new places start and change of opening hours. About 70 second hands are now involved and have also been given a specially developed sign of recognition for their entrences.
Another important thing was to create suggested tours. A test of one, Färgelanda Rundan (Now ”Around Kroppefjäll) took place 1/9 2018 - a tour of approx 100km and with 12 participants. It was a very successful event with much more visitors than a normal Saturday. This proved that team work re-marketing and that all were open during the same time worked well.
During the spring of 2019 there was involvement in another event - Brålanda Second hand day. For this a bus tour and a bicycle tour was developed.
The result of the Antiksafari Dalsland project is gathered on the web site where all the places are distributed, marked on the map and there are also a number of suggestions of different tours to take.
So enjoy Dalsland at the same time as you make bargains! Combine with other activities, accommadation and dining in beautiful Dalsland.
Antiksafari Dalsland - just another reason for a visit!
