Styrsö Boende och Havsbad
Strömstad
Stay or book a conference at Styrsö Boende och Havsbad on a car-free island in Strömstad’s scenic archipelago. Beachfront or glamping tents and nature to explore on foot, by kayak, on a SUP or rented boat.
Stay right by the Kosterfjorden shore
The small and car-free island of Styrsö, outside of Strömstad, has only a few houses and Styrsö Boende och Havsbad – the only accommodation available on the island. Here you can choose between the hostel’s cozy rooms or stay right in the middle of nature in a glamping tent.
The hostel has total of 33 beds divided between 7 rooms with four beds each, 1 triple room and 1 double room. The rooms are simple but spruce, and the shared self-catering kitchen can seat 30 people. You can enjoy Styrsö’s sea view and magical sunsets from the fine sandy beach or swimming in the sheltered bay. The terrace outside the kitchen is weather-protected and can easily accommodate 50–60 people.
Glamping by the sea
Book a glamping tent and enjoy a unique archipelago experience close to the salty sea breeze. In the hostel’s three exclusive tents, you’ll stay comfortably with a wood-burning stove, sheepskins, and sea views – without electricity or Wi-Fi. Cook over an open fire, borrow a kayak, or relax in the sauna and hot tub.
Nature on Styrsö – season by season
Styrsö’s shoreline is dotted with places to go ashore – ideal if you’re setting off on a kayaking or stand up paddling trip. The proximity to islands and islets makes it easy to find your own rock, beach and swimming spot. Do you like outdoor cooking? Choose between an open fire, gas, charcoal or a backpacking stove – all are available to rent. Maybe make a fire down on the beach, or next to the hostel’s terrace?
On Styrsö you can enjoy Kosterhavet’s magical nature and abundant outdoor life all year round. Each season brings its own fascinating discoveries. The easiest way to get here is on one of the Koster ferries from Strömstad, or in your own boat. Welcome!
