Turbine house turned into an art gallery

Tidaholms konsthall is located on Turbinhusön by Tidan River. The building, which was formerly a turbine house, is beautifully situated in a scenic environment. It hosts various exhibitions during the spring, summer, and autumn.

"A beautiful building in a picturesque setting"

That's how the turbine house, where Tidaholm's art gallery is located, can be described.
The building that gave the island its name was built in 1898 on the banks of Tidan River to power a threshing mill in the barn located on the left bank of Tidan near the Railway Bridge. On the ground floor of the turbine house, there were two wooden bathtubs with showers for public use in the southern room. To the north on the same floor, the saddle maker had his workshop. The second floor housed residential units. The house was very modern for its time and is well-preserved today with its red brick facade, crenellated gables, and a small corner tower."
