Old Water Plant
Ulricehamn

Cultural Heritage Building

Buildings listed as cultural buildings, have strong protection by the cultural heritage law, as declared by the local government. Ulricehamn has five historic buildings: Källebacka Mansion, Vinsarp Stone House, Bäckagården, the Old Water Plant and the Station Building.

Water plant from 1914

The water plant at Åsunden was built in 1914. Before that, Ulricehamn had no public water supply, and they accessed their water from the lake or in a well at the Main Square, where there is now a parking area.

Medieval church

The architecture is reminiscent of a medieval church. On a heavy granite base, the architect PG Blidsberg placed the little brick building in the national romantic style. The bricks form the ornaments in the facade, interspersed with green tiles. The interior still has original functioning machinery.

The high-water reservoir also belongs to The Water Plant, which remains at Skarpåsdreven, higher up in the towns' slopes.
