A Day Trip to Strömsfors Mill Village
The Assman River flows through the historic mill community of Strömsfors, having provided power to the area over the years. Take a walk along the mill's storytelling trail and immerse yourself in its history, nature, and architecture.
A Part of West Sweden's Industrial History
Strömsfors is one of the few preserved mill communities in Västra Götaland and forms a significant part of Sweden's industrial heritage. The availability of water power from the Assman River was a key reason for establishing industry here. The old brick buildings showcase beautiful architecture and are now used for events and private gatherings. Visitors can follow the storytelling trail, consisting of 11 signs, to learn about the area's history. Parking is available at the entrance, where a large information board provides more details about the walk.
Villa Strömsfors
A majestic feature in the area is, of course, Villa Strömsfors, which you shouldn't miss. The villa, its garden, and outbuildings have been carefully renovated in recent times and now serve as a hotel and meeting venue.
