Medieval church

Hillareds Kyrka is a medieval church dating back to the 12th century. The church has been renovated in various stages over the years.

About the Church

The church dates back to the 12th century. The original church was smaller than the one you can see today. In addition, the Church acted as a defence during the war.

The oldest part of the church is believed to be the limestone font, which is thought to date back to when the church was built. The walls of the church are decorated with the coats of arms of the Liliehöök and von Schedwin families.
