Svenljunga church
Svenljunga

19th century church in Svenljunga town

Svenljunga kyrka was finally opened in May 1830 after many battles over where it should be built. The church would go on to become a joint church for both Svenljunga and Ullasjö and the location was not easy to agree on.

About the Church

Work to construct Svenljunga's church commenced in 1829 and it was officially opened in May 1830. The church has been renovated several times, the most extensive renovation was carried out in the 1970s.

The church also has two Hammarberg organs: a loft organ from 1961 and a choir organ from 2001.
