When you stay at the authentic Lilla Hotellet, with artist Lena Björn, you get the feeling of ‘being at home’ in the middle of central Tranemo, but with nature all around you. With environmentally-friendly materials and a great deal of attention, this small house has been prepared as a home for one to three people, decorated with art by the owner herself.
The painter’s workshop became a hotel
Lilla Hotellet was originally the master painter Conny Kindblom's painting workshop and its history stretches back a hundred years. Today, the accommodation has all modern conveniences, but you can still feel the echoes of history. There’s a bedroom, a fully-equipped kitchen, a living room with an electric fireplace, a toilet and shower room with underfloor heating, Wi-Fi, cable TV and patio. The artist, Lena Björn, lives on the farm with her family.
Nature and culture outside your door
Just 300 metres from Lilla Hotellet is Tranemo lake with a beautiful, five kilometre walking path around the lake. You can also go fishing here. If you’re looking for other nature experiences, Kroksjön fishing camp, with its game fishing, is only two kilometres away, Hagatorpet outdoor activity area is within cycling distance and a few more miles away you’ll find cultural treasures such as Glasets hus, Torpa stenhus and Hofsnäs Herrgård.
The small town’s offering
The main street in Tranemo passes just a few meters from the Little Hotel with pizzerias, tai restaurant, banks and a sport shop. In the vicinity of the accommodation is also the Central with Sångbergs Bistro and a library, health center and ICA Kvantum. We recommend taking the opportunity to visit Tranemo church, one of Sweden's few central churches with a unique hexagonal shape.
