A garden centre with its own nursery

Gunnar Hedin moved to Svenljunga from Holsljunga in the early 1960s. He bought a small red house on Brogatan, where he launched Svenljunga Handelsträdgård with his partner Anna Axelsson. They grew plants and vegetables, which they sold on. Today, the business is run from the same premises by the same family. Anna's daughter Elisabeth and grandchildren Daniel and Ida, all with the surname Skoglund, are the current owners. They still grow summer flowers, including cut tulips, daffodils, pansies, geraniums and surfinios. In addition to the owners, Charlotta helps out a few days a week, while Elisabeth's husband Kjell is the family’s little helper.
