A little church with a view over the lake

The oldest parts of this church date from the middle ages and were extended in the 19th century.

History

A major renovation took place in 1927, when some of the once-lavish decorations were produced, for example, when the previous colour scheme of the pulpit was created. The pulpit was made in 1711 by G. Björnsson Kihlman and is adorned with images of Moses and the four evangelists. Other decorations were carried out on the gallery, bringing back its old paintings of Christ and the apostles and a painting that goes around the roof garland. More renovations were done in the 1960’s and 1990’s, when, among other things, the church was adapted for accessibility.
