How will my journey along E6 in Stenungsund be affected?
In September 2023, a landslide occurred in Stenungsund, impacting the infrastructure in the area, particularly along E6. While it is still possible to travel via E6, there are some traffic diversions in place at the affected area. Please refer to current traffic diversion information for details.

By Car

By Public Transport
For those without access to a car, public transport is a convenient option for traveling to Tanum. In addition to the train station in Tanumshede, the municipality is served by several bus routes operated by Västtrafik, the regional public transport provider. You can take a bus from major cities such as Gothenburg or Oslo to Tanum, with multiple stops available within the municipality.

By Air
International travelers can fly to nearby airports such as Gothenburg Landvetter Airport or Oslo Airport Gardermoen. From there, you can rent a car and drive to Tanum or take public transport via train and bus. Shuttle services such as Flygbussarna will take you from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport to Gothenburg central and from there you can travel via bus or train with Västtrafik along the scenic West coast all the way to Tanum.
If you are travelling from Oslo Gardemoen Airport to Tanum you can use the train Flytoget to get from Gardermoen to Oslo Central. Flixbuss is operation between Oslo and Gothenburg and makes a stop in Tanum.

Getting Around Tanum

Parking within Tanum Municipality

In central parking areas in Fjällbacka, Grebbestad, and Hamburgsund, a fee is charged from June 15th to August 15th between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The first hour is free, and thereafter, a fee applies. You can park for a maximum of 3 consecutive hours. For parking longer than one hour in fee-charging parking areas, only EasyPark can be used.

Paying the Fee
The fee can be paid via app, SMS, Swish, credit card, invoice, PayPal, or phone payment (provided by EasyPark). Information about payment methods is available on information signs at the parking lot and on the EasyPark website.
