Paddle between two national parks
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced paddler, local canoe and kayak guides can help you discover the area safely. Join a guided tour across calm lakes, sheltered canals or along the beautiful coast.
Paddling here is a special experience. In the border region between Kosterhavet National Park in Sweden and Ytre Hvaler National Park in Norway, you can even cross the national border by kayak.

Several local companies offer guided kayak tours in and around the national park. A guided tour is a great way to discover the area safely and learn more about the unique marine environment.

Important to know
Please respect seal and bird protection areas. Keep a distance of at least 100 metres.
Several nearby areas are nature reserves, including the Koster Islands, Nord Långö, Rossö, Saltö and the Väderö Islands. Different rules may apply in these areas. Always check local signs or read more under Nature reserves.
You are welcome to
- Bring your dog, but keep it on a leash.
- Make a fire - but only in designated places.
- Pull canoes and kayaks ashore, as long as they do not block bathing areas or beaches.
- Pitch a tent for a maximum of two nights in the same place. Please note that camping is not allowed on South Koster or North Koster, except at the campsite on North Koster.
- Between 1 July and 15 August, tents are not allowed between 10:00 and 18:00 on Tenholmarna, Burholmen, Bockholmen and Store Bror.
