This lock keeper home was renovated in the spring of 2020 and is now a 54 sqm modern holiday home with an old-fashioned charm. Bathroom with shower, toilet and washing machine. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher. Living room with dining table and sofa bed for two. Bedroom with double bed. On the second floor there is a sleeping loft with two beds. Dogs are welcome!
Dalsland Center
Just a few kilometers from Upperud you will find Håverud with the lock stairs and the famous aqueduct – a bridge that solved the problem with the steep passage in Håverud for our great canal and railway builder, Nils Ericson. In Dalsland Center, on the other side of the canal you will, during the summers, find a tourist information, restaurant, café and shops.

Take a trip with the boat
The nearest grocery store is in Åsensbruk, where there is also a small beach. You will also find a lot of service and many shops in Mellerud.
A boat with an engine that is included in the cottage rent. For our cottage guests, it is free to get through the locks when they are open in the summer, so take the chance to experience the locks during the week.

Fishing
If you want to fish, from boat or land, you always need to buy a fishing license. Sjöstugan is located by Lake Övre Upperudshöljen that is a part of a large fishing area called Nedre Upperudsälven FVO. You can buy a fishing license at:
