Cross-country Skiing in Trollhättan
Trollhättan

Enjoy cross-country skiing in Trollhättan during the winter months

During cold winter weather, you can go cross-country skiing in Trollhättan, regardless of whether it has snowed or not. Welcome to Trollhättan's artificial snow facility, offering 2.8 km of wonderful skiing and a snow play area for children and beginners.

Cross-country skiing at Skidstugan Strömslund

At Skidstugan Strömslund, you'll find Trollhättan's artificial snow facility, offering 2.8 kilometers (2x1400 meters) of fantastic skiing. Here you have the opportunity to go cross-country skiing during the winter months at low temperatures, regardless of whether it has snowed or not.

The entire artificial snow track is 1400 meters long and consists of an 8-meter wide snow bed with two tracks for classic skiing and a skate track in the middle. There are two turning points along the track, and it is illuminated so you can ski even when it's dark.

Trollhättan's artificial snow facility is open for free cross-country skiing when weather permits. It's free to ski, but you are welcome to make a voluntary track contribution to the association, which goes towards their work on the ski track. The ski track may be fully or partially open depending on the weather. As the weather varies, we recommend that you check the track conditions. The track is open to everyone, so remember to have fun and be considerate!

Visit the artificial snow track

To create artificial snow, sub-zero temperatures are required. A retention pond supplies the facility with water. There is no cooling system; instead, the water is naturally cooled by the outdoor temperature.

You can check the status of the artificial snow track with a webcam on TSOK's website.

Please note that all or parts of the track may be closed to the public during children's and youth training. Current information on when this occurs can be found at www.tsok.se/skidspar (Swedish)

At Skidstugan Strömslund, there are also exercise trails for walking and running, marked mountain bike trails, and an outdoor gym that can be used year-round.

Welcome to Skidstugan Strömslund at Skidbacksvägen 17 in Trollhättan. Free parking and a barbecue area are located near the track at the start and finish area.

How the artificial snow facility is operated

Trollhättan's artificial snow facility is owned by the City of Trollhättan and operated by Trollhättan Ski and Orienteering Club (TSOK) with support from the business community.
