About Pumphuset

Pumphuset, or The Pump House, was built in the beginning of the 20th century as a pump house with filter basins to meet the population's need for clean water. Later, the treatment plant was expanded, but in the end it still could not cope with the growing population and a even more polluted river.

Therefore, a new treatment plant was built at Överby in early 1960s and the waterworks here was demolished, only Pumphuset and another building was saved.

Today, Pumphuset offers a simple exhibition environment. The premises are unheated, without lightning and unmanned. However, it is spectacular in its design ad has a generous amount of light comming through the big windows.

Parking

Visitors to Pumphuset can park at the public car park at Folkets Park and Arena Älvhögsborg.
