SMK Trollhättan
Trollhättan
SMK was formed as early as 1923 and at the club's area at Hedeäng, activities are conducted in Folkrace, Rallycross, Miniracing both onroad and offroad, Motocross, cross for children and ATV/Enduro. There is also an active rally section here, but at the moment there is no specific rally loop in the area for this so the training takes place on the rallycross/folk race track.
FRCK section (Folkrace / Rallycross / Crosskart):
During the year, we arrange competitions on the Hedeäng track. If you are interested in starting with folk race, you are welcome to contact us. To start with folk race, you must be a member of a motor club and have a folk race license. Membership is applied for in the club you want to drive for and you get a license after completing a course that consists of a theory part and for juniors and driverless seniors a drive-up where you show that you can handle a car. You can start driving from the year you turn 15.
Motocross / Enduro / Cross for children:
The large cross track - A hard track of just over a kilometer. It is a relatively technical track to drive fast on, but is still fairly easy to fit both exercisers and race drivers.
Enduro trails - A loop with varied terrain that has a driving time of about 6-8 minutes.
Cross track for children - Available next to the enduro trails. A new track is in the planning stage
Miniracing:
SMK Trollhättan's section for RC cars conducts motorsport in the smaller format in terms of car size but in the large format in terms of activity! We have organized trainings several times a week and arrange a number of both large and small competitions every year. Our members are everything from real beginners up to those who run both the Swedish Championships, the European Championships and the World Cup.
We have an excellent facility in the Hedeäng area with tracks for both asphalt and off-road racing. This is where we spend our time during the summer and drive both electric and fuel-powered cars and motorcycles. We also have a depot area under roof with a fixed mech table, lighting and electricity etc. In the winter, we move the business indoors and only drive electric cars.
Rally / Racing:
The simple rule that applies in rally is that fastest in the finish wins. That you start one by one and that the road is closed to the public, is a matter of course as well as safety cages in the car, at least four-point seat belts, fireproof clothing and a helmet. From one narrow and crooked stage to another, the cars drive on ordinary roads with normal traffic, so-called transport distances. In Racing, it is exclusively about rebuilt special vehicles, although some of the exterior still has the character of a standard car. In the so-called formula classes, the cars have no roof and the wheels are outside the car's main body. Here, Formula 1 is the absolute sharpest class and Sweden has proud traditions to defend and gratifyingly enough, new young talents on their way! Racing is characterized by high acceleration, good weight distribution and good roadholding. In the elite layer, data logging is used where braking points, petrol consumption, engine data and much, much more are registered and taken out in a computer, all to chase another hundredth.
Every year, SMK Trollhättan arranges the traditional competition-Strömkarlsrallyt. The competition is part of the nationwide series Supercupen and VOC Mekonomen Sverigeserien as well as the regional cups Mega Rally Cup and Västra BF's district and club championship.
