A rich sports history gathered in one place

Since the early 1900s, Vänersborg Municipality has had about 150 clubs. Some of their club emblems can be seen on two roll-up displays, and old sports facilities are also featured on similar roll-up displays.

Prize collections from famous athletes are on display, including the collection from the great runner Arne Andersson. Arne, along with Gunder Hägg, was one of the top runners in the 1940s. You can also see the prize collection from Tor Wibom, an Olympic legend. Wibom was a prominent equestrian athlete in the military pentathlon. After his active career, Tor served as a leader during several Olympics.

The museum can also showcase films from various sports such as football, bandy, ice hockey, athletics, as well as strength sports like boxing and wrestling. These sports are displayed on a large TV.
