Hiking trails on Halleberg and Hunneberg
Here you can choose between 15 varied hiking trails totaling about 80 km in beautiful, preserved nature. Experience breathtaking views over Lake Vänern, rolling meadows, enchanting lakes, wilderness, scree slopes, and limestone caves.
Buy a hiking map for extra guidance
There are 15 trails to choose from on Halleberg and Hunneberg, ranging from about 10 km to shorter walks of 700 meters or 1.5 km. Altogether, the trails total around 80 km.
The map also shows the difficulty levels of the trails, fire pits, wind shelters, attractions on the mountains, and much more useful information. To make it easier to find your way, we recommend purchasing a hiking map.
The map costs 100 SEK and can be purchased at the HalleHunneberg Visitor Center as well as at the tourist offices in Trollhättan and Vänersborg. You can also have a map sent to you by mail for 100 SEK + postage.

Exercise tracks and trail running on the mountains
The association OK Skogsvargarna organizes training sessions on Halle and Hunneberg during the year. With an inexpensive membership you can participate and also use the changing rooms and sauna.
If you prefer running on your own, Bergagården on Hunneberg is a perfect starting point. Here at the Halle- & Hunneberg information center you can choose between several exercise tracks: 2.5 km, 5 km, 10 km, and illuminated tracks of 1.0 km and 2.5 km.

Guided hikes and beaver safaris
It is possible to book guided hikes for groups with certified nature guides in the mountains’ untouched natural landscapes. The hikes visit both well-known and hidden places on the mountains, and you will learn more about the area’s history, flora, and fauna.
