A popular market that has been held in Vänersborg for more than 200 years

On the last Saturday of October that is not a public holiday (24 October in 2026), the October Market takes place in central Vänersborg.

The October Market is one of the municipality’s largest events and has a long-standing tradition. For more than 200 years, the town centre has hosted this market, which has become a true homecoming weekend, attracting many former residents who return to visit.

Nearly 200 market vendors draw more than 25,000 visitors to the centre of Vänersborg. Here you can browse and buy socks, handicrafts, sweets, reindeer sausage, and all the other goods typically associated with a traditional Swedish market.

The event is organised by Vänersborgs kommun.
