You are outside of everything in the big nowhere - in the desert... There is nothing to navigate with - You need water now! Song Lines use keywords, imagery, sound, and rhythm to show the way. The songs are a central part of the oldest living culture we know of - Aboriginal culture in Australia. The first day on site in Gamle Dal - the storm Hans on the way - I heard during my hike in the small forest somewhere, rustling - water.
Fallen trees, moss, stones, branches, leaves everywhere ... a small hole to an underground stream with sparkling, bubbling water that came and went into nowhere. I found the place I wanted to work with. Green Wood with mossy branches and trunks, nearby a standing golden trunk - created as a landmark, a key to my Song Line that wants to show the way...
