ÄggliKören is a mixed choir that started in 2004. We are about forty singers and the most come from Vänersborg and Trollhättan. The choir's goal, which is also written in the statutes, is to create listening pleasure and singer joy, and we often receive feedback that proves that we are living up to this goal.
ÄggliKören is a relatively young choir, but already has a repertoire of a couple of hundred songs of various genres. In 2014 we turned ten years and celebrated our first jubilee with a big anniversary concert in October.
ÄggliKören wants to create listener and singer joy, and our idea to get there is variety in our repertoire and development of both the choir as a whole and the individual singer. We try to, at each performance, offer as wide musical content as we can. Over the years, we have had concerts and other performances in widely different places such as churches, hospitals, concert halls, shopping centres and of course at home at the NÄL hospital.
At least once a year, we organize a choir seminar with an external choir coach and pedagogue and practice singing technique and other useful things. The choir's social life is also an important part of the development strategy. We hang out and have a lot of fun together during song breaks, at parties, choir weekends and trips to get to know each other on more levels than just the musical. This creates security for each and every one of us, which is an important precondition for daring to perform together.
ÄggliKören is happy to collaborate with other choirs. We have a friend choir ÖSSblanda from Fredrikstad, Norway and with them we had joint concerts both here at home and in Norway. In the fall of 2013, we were invited to participate in their 25th anniversary celebration. We have also had several concerts together with the Syskonringen choir in Trollhättan.
