HISTORICAL ELECTRICAL CABINET ART
Trollhättan

See historic buildings along Storgatan

Take a relaxing walk along Storgatan in Trollhättan and get an insight into what it looked like in the past. The City of Trollhättan has set up electrical cabinet art along the street with pictures from the city's history.

A pleasant historical journey from the beginning of the 20th century

A total of 17 pictures have been set up on electrical cabinets along Storgatan in central Trollhättan, where you can see photographs from the beginning of the 20th century onwards. Among other things, you will see Storgatan and Karl Johan's square decorated before Oscar II's visit on September 6, 1904, the shops that were located along the street during the 1920s and 1950s, Christmas lighting from 1958 and much more.

Start your walk from Karl Johan's square opposite Hotel Scandic Swania and follow the street until you reach Café Gillet in beautiful Betty Backs Park. A perfect short walk to the center with lots to see along the way and cafes and restaurants to visit during the walk.

Download PDF with all electrical cabinet images.

A TIP! Compare buildings then and now online. You can also visit Prisma Västra Götaland where you can see pictures from the past and present next to each other online and see what has changed. Visit Prisma Västra Götaland's website.

Combine with a wonderful Trollywood feeling

When you walk along Storgatan, you will also stroll around among the movie stars in Trollhättan. Film i Väst based in Trollhättan has since its inception in 1992 co-produced more than 1000 Swedish and international feature films, TV drama, documentaries and short films. The city has therefore welcomed several, both Swedish and international, movie celebrities and several of these have received their very own star on Trollhättan's own Walk of Fame.

Here you will find stars for actors such as Izabella Scorupco, Robert Gustafsson, Pernilla August, Rolf Lassgård and Mikael Persbrandt.
