At the HalleHunneberg Visitor Center, located in Ekopark Halle and Hunneberg, you’ll find a museum, café, and shop. In the museum, you can learn more about the moose, the nature of the mountains, fascinating cultural history, and traditional royal hunting. You’ll also find useful information about attractions and activities in the ecopark to inspire your excursions.
In the museum, there is an exhibition about the wildlife of the mountains, with the moose as the main focus. Through interactive elements, you are guided by educational information presented through text and images. You’ll also hear exciting tales and myths about gods, kings, moose, and how the mountains were once formed. Discover the gold treasure that lay hidden at the foot of the mountain for thousands of years and follow the story of how it was rediscovered. The museum can be explored on your own, or you can book a group tour with one of the knowledgeable guides.
Nature experiences for the whole family
Come and explore nature at Halle and Hunneberg. There are 80 km of hiking trails, around ten lakes, shelters, and barbecue areas. Join one of the skilled guides on a beaver safari and look for these shy animals in their natural habitat. You can also rent a canoe and paddle across a mystical forest lake, or bring your bike and explore the mountains along small roads and trails. At the visitor center, you can purchase fishing permits for some of the beautiful lakes in the area.
Food and coffee
At Bergagården, there is a café located within the HalleHunneberg Visitor Center. There is also a pleasant restaurant if you prefer not to bring your own food.
