Beaver safari with canoe
Along with a certified guide you are able to get to know more about the fascinating animal - the beaver - and his life on Hunneberg. We set out on an exciting journey to discover the beautiful Ecopark Halle Hunneberg. On foot we pass by old crofts and bogs, lakes and interesting flora and fauna. As we approach beaver grounds our guide will tell us more about this great architect.
Experience an exciting adventure in West Sweden's only Eco park. Together with a certified guide from the Royal Hunt Museum Elk Hill you are given the opportunity to learn more about the beaver and his life on Hunneberg mountain.
During the trip, the knowledgeable and dedicated guide informs about the beaver, this amazing architect and his construction work. Did you know, for example, that the beaver can detect smell underwater? Or that they can build huts that are two meters high?
Safari in the canoe
Explore the quiet waters of Hunneberg by canoe and get the opportunity to see the animals that gather there. As you approach the area where the beavers live, you silently get closer to watch the shore where they build their huts.
Best time to see beavers
The best time to get the chance to see beaver is during the summer season. May to September. The museum offers fixed departures during the summer, although booking is required.
The Safari is a canoe ride that requires sturdy shoes/boots and clothes. The safari tour takes about three hours and starts from the Royal Hunt Museum Elk Hill.
550 SEK per adult and 350 SEK per child
Included in the price: guided tour, coffee, tea, lemonade and light refreshments.
Fixed trips during July and August on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Booking is required to the Royal Hunt Museum Elk Hill beforehand. Safaris can be arranged for groups during May and June, please contact the museum for more information.
