Explore Dalsland’s countryside

You can park at the local football pitch in Dals Rostock. From here cycle south through the town and out onto country roads. Have a look at the little Station House before you leave Dals Rostock, it’s an exact miniature of the town’s former railway station which once stood in the same place.

The first half of the route provides lovely rural views, with fields, meadows and farms. The blue waters of Lake Näsölen shimmer beyond the pastures.

Finish with a fika at Örtagården

When you’ve passed the northern tip of the lake it starts to get hillier, and in the kilometres that lie ahead an ascent of about 90 metres awaits. The road winds through forested areas here.

About where you cycle back in to Dals Rostock you’ll see Örtagården by the side of the road. It’s a great place to stop for a cuppa and has a museum, art studio, visitor garden and summer opening cafe.

Top tip! If you’re looking for somewhere to stay the night we can recommend Kroppefjäll B&B which is a short ride away. You can rinse your bike here and keep it in a locked bike storage area. There is moreover a great bike park nearby.
