Program 2024

The elite of European oyster openers compete in a high-class competition to crown the best of the best. Parallel to the championship, the Food & Crafts Fair and inspirational cooking are taking place with a focus on local flavors and locally produced food. In the oyster bar, you can enjoy natural and prepared oysters from Havstenssund, and in our restaurant section in Lilla NOVA, we offer a variety of cold and hot dishes.

 

MAIN STAGE

12:00 - Opening ceremony
Presentation of the contestants and the jury.

12:15 - European Oyster Opening Championships - Qualifying
Six heats with 24 contestants from 13 nations compete for eight semi-final spots.

15:15 - European Oyster Opening Championships - Semi-final
The eight best from the qualifying compete for four final spots.

16:30 - European Oyster Opening Championships - Final
The four best from the semi-final meet in a decisive final.

16:45 - Viking race - Oyster opening relay
Five teams with three contestants per team open 30 oysters in time.

17:00 - Award ceremony
The European champion is crowned!

 

 

 

FOOD STAGE

11:30 - Inspirational cooking with a focus on oysters
Ulrika Lorensson from Havsstenssunds Ostron talks about her business and how oysters can be enjoyed in many different ways. Together with Rickard Halleröd, they give tips on cooking methods, flavorings, and other good things.

12:30 - Inspirational cooking with local chefs and producers
Daniel Norman from Godhem Sour Café, Jimi Sandberg, and Richard Larsen cook lamb and sheep delivered by Agnetha Björnsdotter Berglund from Kullans Lycka.

13:45 - Inspirational cooking with local chefs and producers
Victor Kahale Larsson from Albert Kök Hotell & Konferens and John-Fredrik Grönvall from Ehrenhofers Lamm & Vilt offer their best tips on how to cook game.

14:45 - Inspirational cooking with a focus on mussels
Janne Bark from Musselbaren in Ljungskile talks about the sea's super hero, the mussel. Together with Rickard Halleröd, they give tips on different cooking methods for the mussel.
