Trout fishing in the river Ätran
Hillared

Fishing experience in flowing water.

In Hillared in northern Svenljunga, the watercourse Ätran runs. Here you will find a 30 km long trout fishing area with exclusive fishing.

The trout in the river Ätran

Ätran is designated as one of the most valuable reproduction areas for lake trout in Västra Götaland County. Here is a 30 km long continuous trout water with tributaries that are suitable spawning areas. Here they work actively to increase the trout stock and the fishing gets better every year, which requires fishermen to follow rules so that the development continues to be positive.

The trout fishing is valid from 1 May and closes when the water has passed 20 degrees. In normal cases, this usually happens in July. The fishing is exclusive and in a limited area. To fish for trout, you need to buy a special trout fishing license.

Fishing Permits & Rules
