Here you can see the working life of a stonemason, the technology involved, production processes, social conditions and culture, all the while revolving around the workplaces and other historic environments. Discover the noble art of stonemasonry

A visit to Stenhuggerimuseet takes you back in time to the year 1935, and the life of a stonemason. Imagine yourself in that era while you look at the photographs, the tools and the ancient stone cart. Have a guided tour if you want to get the most out of your visit. During this tour you’ll hear stories of how the stone quarries started, the Hitler Stone, how the stone quarry worked and so on. Stenhuggerimuseet also organises courses in stone cutting, where you'll learn about the noble art of stonemasonry.
