Be in the archipelago - above and below the surface of the sea

Marine Events is for those who want to discover everything that Gothenburg's archipelago has to offer - at close quarters. Join a seal safari, fish for lobster and mackerel or try wreck fishing off the Danish coast.

The savoury delights of the sea

Marine Events is based on Hönö, in Gothenburg's northern archipelago. There are a variety of adventures on offer in an outstanding marine environment. Come out fishing and taste the delights of the sea, such as crab, lobster and mackerel. There are plenty of seals to see in the area, too.

Fish around old shipwrecks

The boat is prepared and loaded early in the morning, ready for an exciting fishing trip on the Danish coast. There’s a lot of history buried in the area at 30 to 200 metres’ depth in the form of shipwrecks. Many different fish species feed among the old wrecks and you can get cod, haddock, catfish, squid and octopus on the hook.

Seal safari and iconic Vinga

Wild wind, waves and smooth rocks. A boat tour among the rocky islets is more than just a journey: it’s an experience of the west coast from the best possible perspective. You’ll see the first seal colonies about 15 minutes out from Hönö Klåva port. The largest has more than 100 seals and you are able to get really close to these beautiful, wild mammals. The seal pups are born in the month of June, and they bask in the sun with the rest of the herd during the whole summer.

The tour continues toward the well-known island of Vinga where the boat stops to give passengers a chance to stretch their legs and even a quick tour up to the lighthouse.
