Traditional Christmas market with Swedish crafts and foods at Gunnebo House. Gunnebo House and Gardens is one of Sweden's finest 18th century estates, beautifully located between the lakes Stensjön and Rådasjön in the town of Mölndal, about 10 minutes south of Gothenburg. The exhibitors can be found in the main building and its two wings. The coffee shop and restaurant are open all day, and hot drinks and snacks are also served outside.

Christmas Market at Tofta Mansion

Kungälv

Tofta Manor is situated about 30 minutes north of Gothenburg, just outside Kungälv. Here you can get into the Christmas spirit in the old grain store. Craftsmen and food producers display and sell their products. On offer are for example ceramics, woodwork, wrought-iron goods, silver jewellery and various textile products. If you're interested in food, you can buy mustard, marzipan, different jams and marmalades, game, home-baked bread and much more. In Tofta Distillery you'll find a Christmas Café with delicious home-baked cakes, sandwiches, light meals, and a genuine Christmas spirit. Pony rides are available for children.

Christmas Market at Nordens Ark

Old-fashioned Christmas celebrations, and Christmas market, including Christmas carols and dancing around the Christmas tree, a visit from Father Christmas and Christmas trees, crafts etc. to buy. Tombolas and much more. In the café you can enjoy a Christmas meal and the traditional Swedish Christmas drink, glögg, among other things. Nordens Ark, which is about 1.5 hours north of Gothenburg, is a nature park of generous proportions, with a diverse flora, where you can see threatened animal species from all over the world. Everything from old Scandinavian breeds to wild animals and exotic species from places with a climate similar to that in Scandinavia.

Baldersnäs Manor is in a beautiful setting by Lake Laxsjö, near the Dalsland Canal in the heart of Dalsland, around 2 hours by car from Gothenburg. Over the weekend of 2-4 December you’ll be able to visit their classic manor house Christmas market, with everything from silverwork, straw crafts, woodwork, textiles and wool products to hand dipped candles, glass art, ceramics and dolls. In the large food hall you can revel in the delicious smells of Christmas, where skilful artisan food producers will tempt you with game sausages, cheesecakes, marzipan decorations and other delicacies, all made with love.

The archipelago during advent

Hönö Klåva

A Christmas market will be taking place in Klåva on the island of Hönö, in Gothenburg’s archipelago, during the first weekend of advent. Mooch around the shops decorated for Christmas, visit the craft stalls and admire the Christmas lights strung around the pretty harbour. You can get to Hönö Klåva easily on public transport from the centre of Gothenburg.

Karlsborg

Enjoy the Christmas atmosphere at Karlsborg Fortress. The rooms will be filled with genuine craftwork and food, and in the church you can listen to beautiful music.

The museum will be open all day and in the Fortress courtyard you can have something tasty to eat in the old Soldiers’ Quarters.
