Isbolaget is a restaurant and hotel on Donsö, right in the centre of Gothenburg’s southern archipelago. Take the ferry or sea taxi to the old ice warehouse and enjoy really fresh food, comfortable accommodation and magnificent views.

You’ll find Isbolaget at the end of the pier in the old fishing village of Donsö. It was once a warehouse that provided the fishing boats with ice, now converted into a restaurant and hotel. Since there are no roads, bridges or car ferries to Gothenburg’s southern archipelago, ferry lines or sea taxis are the two options for getting here.

Well cooked food in a rustic setting

Everything is cooked from basic ingredients at Isbolaget, the concept being to “only serve what you would enjoy yourself". As well as fresh fish and seafood there are ingredients from local farms on the archipelago tavern’s menu.
The rustic old ice warehouse has space for 120 guests in the restaurant and an additional 60 guests on the glass-covered terrace. Isbolaget has a wide range of catering services and the premises are well-suited for kick-offs, parties and weddings. You can find the opening hours, lunch themes, musical entertainment and after-work hours on the website.

Personal hotel rooms with a blue view

The newly built hotel section now offers 10 attractively furnished double rooms and suites with views toward Vinga lighthouse, the neighbouring island of Styrsö and Donsö harbour. The colour schemes are in grey and beige tones. Each room has a bathroom, and breakfast and Wi-Fi are included in the price. Bicycles for adults and children are available to rent.
