Vinga / Gothenburg’s outer archipelago
On the island of Vinga, much loved by troubadour Evert Taube and beacon of Gothenburg, Vinga Event organises conferences to your specifications and provides cosy overnight stays. Sleep in historic buildings from the mid-19th century and enjoy the briny air, swimming and fishing trips.
Vinga – the westernmost island in the archipelago
Vinga lies on the edge of Gothenburg’s outer archipelago and was home to pilots and lighthouse keepers until 1974. Vinga Events’ activities are held in the original 19th-century buildings in "Fyrfolkets By" – the ”lighthouse people’s village” where lighthouse assistants, lighthouse keepers and the island’s teacher lived. One of Sweden’s best-loved poets and musicians, Evert Taube, grew up here, where his father was the master lighthouse keeper between 1889 and 1905.
Conferences and events in the sea breeze
The marvellous sea views and fresh air on Vinga open up all your senses for creative meetings and great times with colleagues. Arrange a day conference or book a pleasant overnight stay featuring sauna baths, swimming, seafood, easy transportation and marine activities such as a fishing trip, a seal safari or a guided island tour.
Pleasant accommodation, festivities and activities
Ideal for the family or group of friends that wants to escape the noise of the city for recuperation and recreation. Enjoy barefoot walks on smooth, sun-warmed rocks, swim in the sea, improve your tan or go fishing. Socialise, play, explore and cook meals together. Perfect for festivities, extended-family dinners, hen or bachelor parties. Or perhaps a romantic wedding, with the ceremony by the lighthouse and your closest friends for company?
