Salt & Sill

Sweden's first floating hotel

Enjoy the restaurant's seafood and its speciality, the “Sillplankan" (herring plate) which has done so much for Salt & Sill’s international reputation. The sound of the waves lightly slapping the sides of Sweden's first floating hotel will lull you to sleep later in the evening. Whether you come alone or as part of a larger group, you’ll be well cared for.

Sleep soundly in modern rooms

The rooms at Salt & Sill are modern and in the clean Scandinavian style. There are several bathing steps, ideal for a refreshing morning dip. There is a large sun deck on the roof of the hotel where you can relax and enjoy the wonderful view of the outer islands of Tjörn.

Renowned restaurant

Savour Salt & Sill’s dishes close to the sea. Enjoy the fish, seafood and specialities called “Sillplankan”  and ”Klädesholmaren”. The restaurant has been given the awards “Worth a trip” and “White’s heart” by the White Guide and the restaurant is part of the network A taste of West Sweden. The network gathers restaurants and cafes that, in close collaboration with local producers, offer West Swedish culinary experiences based on seasonal and local ingredients.
