Vänga Kvarnkafé & Bageri
Fristad/Borås

Mill café with certified organic buns and cakes, scenic footpath nearby

Just north of Borås you’ll find Vänga Kvarnkafé & Bageri where bread, pastries and cakes are baked using locally produced ingredients. You can go cycling or walking in wonderful scenery before taking a well-deserved break with coffee and cakes!

Newly renovated 19th-century mill with café, bakery and museum

Vänga Kvarncafé & Bageri is located in a fully functional 19th-century mill, only 20 minutes from the town of Borås. The café was renovated as recently as 2019 and the bakery is completely new. Drop in for coffee and cakes or buy delicious bread, buns, pastries, cakes and sour dough sandwiches, all produced in the bakery using certified organic cereals ground in the mill. “Skafferiet” (the pantry) also sells locally produced rapeseed oil and several types of pressed juices and lemonade.
The mill also has a museum and its events are advertised on Vänga Kvarncafé’s social media.

Vänga Kvarncafé is part of the network A taste of West Sweden. The network gathers restaurants and cafes that, in close collaboration with local producers, offer West Swedish culinary experiences based on seasonal and local ingredients.

Cycle-friendly nature area with footpath

Many visitors cycle to the mill café and if walking is your thing, the Vänga Mosse nature area is really close by. There you’ll find an easy footpath up to 5 kilometres long on wide duckboards, depending on the route you choose along the loop.
